Hi there!  It's nice to meet you.

I'm Callie, and I like to talk...a lot. (Can't say you weren't warned)

I have an amazing husband who won me over with his incredible accent. We have 4 little people running around the house, and not a single day is boring or quiet in our home. If it's quiet, someone is doing something they shouldn't be.

I started A Little More Southern back in 2013 after I moved from south Alabama to New Zealand, which is in the Southern Hemisphere. I literally moved further south, and that's how the name A Little More Southern came to be. Originally, I intended to use my little corner of the internet as a way to connect with family and friends back home, but I quickly learned potential New Zealand expats were interested in what I had to say. While I enjoyed talking about being an expat, it wasn't what I really wanted to focus on. A couple of kids, re-brands, and long blogging breaks later you have today's version of A Little More Southern.

What Can You Expect?

You can expect me to get off topic from time-to-time, but I will mostly control myself and stick to homeschooling, homemaking, food, and family.  If you're not a homeschooler, I have you covered, too. The big girl isn't homeschooled. I know all about the struggles you face with mainstream schooling. What else can you expect? My real-talk. I'm not going to pretend to be someone I'm not. I'm not a helicopter mom, I'm not perfect, and I'm not going to judge you. I know we're all here doing the best we can.

Now that we've established that, you can click here to read more about the blog, my family, and me.

Things to Know

When you come across blue text, it's a link for you to click for more information.

All of my posts are broken down into categories and are linked in the main menu of my website.

The Home is where you can find everything related to Homemaking.  Looking for recipes, cleaning tips, posts about organizing your laundry room?  You'll find it under the Home category.

Homeschooling will have all the arts, crafts, and educational related topics.  It will have content non-homeschoolers will find useful, so it's definitely worth checking out.

Family covers all things parenting and marriage related.  Issues with your parents (the grandparents)?  Yep, check out the Family section.

If you can't find what you're looking for, there is a search box in the sidebar on the right side of the site.  Type and press enter to pull up the results.  Still can't find something?  Send an email to (callie at alittlemoresouthern dot com) or send me a message on the Contact page.
